Dance Bio

Krissy’s love for dance began at the early age of two, and she has been dancing and performing ever since. Throughout her life, she has always managed to incorporate dance into whatever she does.

In high school, Krissy was a dance captain for the Falmouth Dance Academy competition team. This provided her with a multitude of performance experiences. She was a participant in the “Rock with the Stars from Athens Event”; a tour featuring both the 2004 Olymipic Champions and pop singer, JoJo. In addition, one of her hip hop dances was an opener for a Boston Celtics/Chicago Bulls game.

Krissy has had extensive training in jazz, tap, hip hop, modern, contemporary, ballet, and lyrical. She has had the opportunity to learn from and dance with many renowned choreographers, such as; Brian Friedman (Britney Spears’ choreographer), Kelly Peters ( from Broadway Dance Center in NYC and Rhapsody from LA) and Napoleon and Tabitha (from one of America’s favorite shows, So You Think You Can Dance).

Krissy earned her degree from Providence College with a major in Elementary/Special Education and a minor in dance. She was a member of the Providence College Dance Company and served as a choreographer for 3 years. In college, Krissy attended ACDF and got the experience to take dance classes with other college students from around the New England area.

Fitness Bio

It was while at PC, that Krissy discovered her love for fitness. She has been AFAA certified instructor since 2007 and has enjoyed teaching Zumba, Pilates, Cycling, Aqua Aerobics, Sculpt and kick boxing. It was at the start of her fitness career when Krissy was first attracted to Zumba, a new fitness craze at the time.  As a result, she was instrumental in establishing the Zumba program at PC.

In addition, she has been a personal trainer for the students and staff at Providence College and has attended the fitness conferences AAAI/ISMA in Hyannis, MA for the past 5 years. Krissy had the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic and Jamaica to teach these formats at Dreams Punta Cana Resort and Spa and Secrets Resort and Spa and will continue to advocate health and fitness abroad. She was certified and licensed to teach fitness to children and teens hoping to inspire healthy habits amongst our youth and was selected to participate in a study proving that movement improves test scores. In doing so, she has combined her Elementary/Special Education training and passion for fitness. By teaching Zumba to children with Special needs, she has learned to modify workouts to make fitness applicable to all.

She strives to motivate her participants by encouraging them to “keep moving” in order to reach their health and wellness goals. Most importantly Krissy harbors an environment that is friendly, fun, and enthusiastic.
